What is this funny thing called a blog?
A blog, short for weblog, is an instantly and frequently updated website, focused around a topic or industry. Take a look at the Think Green Media Blog. There are also links to other blogs there.
A blog is often described as an online diary. The most recent entries, called posts, appear on the homepage of the blog with links to archives of older posts and relevant websites. Post archives are organized by date and often categorized by topic. Each post has a form for readers to add their own comments and to give their opinion or reaction to the post. Comments can be free-flowing or configured to be approved before being published.
Blogs began as shared on-line journals where people posted diary-like entries about their personal experiences and hobbies. More recently, blogs have been accepted by businesses of all sizes as PR & search engine optimization tools. Blogs can have multiple authors post to the blog.
